Suggestica - Suggestions for life
I had not been a book worm during my early days but over the last couple of years book reading became part of my day to day activity. If I don’t read a book for a week, I feel that I have not done something that I should have done that week. There is so much to learn and books are the best. But a question always remain, how do you pick the good ones that will give you the satisfaction of reading it and also there is something to learn from the book? The best way is to listen to someone you trust most and you are so confident that you will like a book if they suggest. And what if that person is an expert in the area of your interest, your favorite and you are a big fan of him/her. Then you will have no second thoughts to read a book suggested by him/her. Suggestica is all about bringing out those suggestions made by experts.
Suggestica went live yesterday and is the first project that we at Compassites did on Ruby on Rails. The application has some cool AJAX based features. I still remember when we started off this project, Naveen sent a scanned copy of couple of sheets that contained four screens drawn using pencil. It was a product idea by Vijay, backed by Rajesh Setty simply put in just four sheets. An idea that sprouted has transformed today as a complete product. We had an excellent time developing this project, lot of challenges and tough times but we made it. Suggestica now features suggestions from experts covering business and self development. More categories and experts will be updated on a regular basis. Please take some time to look into it and do send me your comments, feedback and suggestions.

I just gave my first shot at suggestica - was real cool.
one suggestion may be that - make the cart icon a little more prominent - for your users may miss to make out that its available for sale - i got to know that one could shop as well from here by reading the faq n whattha pages.
BTW one personal query out of interest - how does this work - do u rope in the experts to give u suggestions or is it that u track the various experts suggestions available everywhere and come up with the list.

On your query, majority we go by the 2nd option, we tract the various experts suggestions available anywhere. But we will also be doing 1st option if we get an opportunity to interact with experts and get his/her suggestions.
